Default Embedded files

I have been receiving excel files with embedded files (.mp3) with no
problems. Today I cannot get the .mp3 files to open. The timer keeps going
and task manager says not responding. I need to fix this - any help would be
appreciated

Default Embedded files

The first thing you need to do is to try to execute a mp3 file from windows
and see if it still player and what player is used. Try a mp3 file that is
on your PC and try saving the embeded file on yor PC and trying playing the
file from the PC instead of from excel. Try an older spreadsheet that worked
and see if it still works. You can have multiple problems

1) There player you were using on your PC was deleted or is corrupted
2) A new player was installed on your PC that isn't working properly
3) Something happened to the CODEC on your PC.
4) The Embedded file is corrupted.

Running a mp3 file on your pc will give you more info. It the file plays
then go back to the embeeded file and try again. Sometimes running the file
from windows will install new components that are need before the embeed file
will run.
