Default PC repaired, lost disc- need complete reinstall of MOSE2003

My pc crashed and was rebuilt in 12/06 I previously had MO 2002 and 2003-
Office standard edition loaded on my pc. I lost all my original discs in
moving. The tech that repaired it reloaded it to factory settings & it worked
BUT then I tried MSOffice2007 and started getting " window Installer" popping
up all the time & conflicting messages so I had to let it delete some stuff
from 2003 and 2002 .Still Installer would keep asking for a 'disc' but they
are gone. I deleted 2007 trial but then 2003 keeps trying to reinstall
repeatedly all the time and causes pc to freeze.Tried deleting 2003 & now
same problem is happening with 2002. I restored 2003 and this installer
window is driving me nuts.Is it safe to remove all over MS Office from the pc
or will that make my email & other programs not work? I dont know what all
it is that is attached to my pc since it was preloaded on my hp computer at
time bought. OR IS THERE A WAY TO REPAIR THIS WITHOUT HAVING MY ORIGINAL
DISC? Its a home use computer mostly 4 email & art jpegs as I do artwork .
That is most important use 4 me as I rarely need office but 4 a letter or
envelope to print.

Did you have retail versions of Office or OEM versions?

Default PC repaired, lost disc- need complete reinstall of MOSE2003

I havent a clue. It came on the computer originally and it broke last Dec
2006. I had to have a tech reload windows to factory preset and start over
like a new pc but lost all my previous files. The MS Office Edition 2003 was
already on the pc when my daughter bought it. It is a hp pavilion x74 with
windows xp service pack 2.
After it was all reinstalled by the tech store, it seemed to run fine, but I
could no longer login at websites for sending email to contacts on them. The
window for login to outlook would have a fatal error, so I would copy the
addy's from websites and write to them via my msn addy in hotmail. It is
more of a nuisance since some websites for email customer service contact
have you hit a link but dont show their email addys which always leads me to
login at microsoft office outlook passport that gives the fatal error
messages. Then Windows Installer popups saying it is trying to install
Microsoft Office 2003 and gets so far repeatedly til it his a point wanting
the original disc which is lost over a year. I hit cancel every time but it
repeats this routing automatically all the time.I minimize it to a corner
which at least keeps it out of the way for most of the time, but when I want
to load jpegs online, it always pops back in the center of my screen and
interferes with downloading pictures and other things.
Last week I figured since I rarely use it I would just delete it, but then
all that did was bring me back to the 2002 version and that also makes the
Window Installer pop ups ~ So then I did a System Restore to put 2003 back
where it was but again the Windows Installer keeps popping up and asking for
a disc~ I have the same problem with Roxio as that wont let me uninstall
without a disc and wont install to use without the disc either- so both
programs are just wasting space on my pc and causing conflicts.Sometims the
popups name the missing file, so I will try to catch it next time and post
the file number here. It says it may be on the computer but I need to browse
to find it. I havent a clue where to browse but tried all over the computer
then it said it may have been renamed{?} so I downloaded all the updates for
2002 and 2003 and still it is messed up.

That is why I wonder if I just delete it all if that would solve the problem
but fear what 2003 and 2002 are hooked to. I do use notepad and wordprocessor
to write letters sometimes and I dont know if they would be affected if I
deleted 2003 & 2002 entirely.

Any info you can help me with I would appreciate. Thanks~ LadyMadonnah

If it came preinstalled on a different computer, then you had an OEM
version.

I would suggest taking your computer back to the tech who reinstalled Office
and tell them to fix it right this time.

Thanks JoAnn.. I guess I better backup my art files to one of those memory
sticks first as the last time the tech fixed it he deleted all my files. He
has a shop at his house. I had hoped there was a way to get the file and just
load it, but if he is responsible I wil call him and see about bringing it
back there[ although i moved and he is 60 miles away- guess it is like
murphys law- if something can go wrong it will... lol... Thanks though..
