Default Installing Office 2000 on Windows 7 - unresponsive!

I have already uninstalled the Office 2007 on my new laptop and wish to
install Office 2000 which I had purchased previously. I install it and it
says it's successful but when I try to open Microsoft Word (which is the only
program I actually want), the page opens and then doesn't respond. I've
uninstalled and installed it a number of times but the same thing keeps
coming up. I don't particular wish to buy a new copy of Office.

Anyone know why this is happening? All I want to do is use Microsoft Word!

Did you uninstall the complete Trial and also the Activation Assistant along with it
?
