The separate set of Hotmail-specific folders you're used to having in OE
(illustration:

are no longer available now that WebDAV support has ended.

When you access your Hotmail account in OE via POP3, only messages in your
inbox at http://mail.live.com will download into OE. All of your folders
remain available at http://mail.live.com.

You can create a new account (in OE Tools | Accounts | Mail) to access your
Hotmail via POP3 access but you cannot edit your old one. If you've already
done so and no messages are downloading into OE...

Compare your new account's settings to those listed on this page:
http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!422.entry

TIP: OE Tools | Accounts | Mail | [new Hotmail POP3 account] | Properties |
Servers | Incoming mail server | Log on using Secure Password Authentication
=Do NOT check/enable this option!

TIP: OE Tools | Accounts | Mail | [new Hotmail POP3 account] | Properties |
Servers | Outgoing mail server | My server requires authentication
=check/enable this option

TIP: Outgoing (SMTP) server port will need to be 587, not 25, for most
users.

TIP: Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection and it may be causing your problem.

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
