Default conflict between outlook 2003 and outlook express

After Office Pro XP install (Office 10) I can't start Outlook and get the
following message: cant start outlook, requires outlook express 4.01 or
greater.
I already have Express 6 installed as part of IE6 from XP SP2.
Why doesn't office pro recognize this ?
