Default Spell Check not working

This worked for me, thanks dorkchop...

Don't know if this will help, but I had the same problem with 2007 outlook.
With a little trouble shooting I fixed spell check by going to "Help" which
is to the right of "Tools". In the drop down menu of "Help" you will see
something called "Disabled Items". Select "disabled items" and after
selecting disabled items I got a window that had a selection of disabled
items. I selected the item that contained the text "spell-en something,
somehting" can't remember what he actual text was, but after clicking
"Enable" spell check was working again. Not sure if this will work for all,
but I thought I would share this as the only other fix for this that i could
find was a registry edit fix...

Please help..I've read the article, but since I'm not very technical I do not
understand how to go about fixing this problem. I haven't been able to use
my Spell Check for over 6 months now and getting very frustrated with it.

Could someone please help fix this problem in simpler terms?

Spell check for Office 2007, in at least Word 2007 and Outlook 2007 is not
working. Not only does it not recognize a misspelled word automatically,
when I hit f7 it says all words are spelled correctly. the grammar check
works just fine. It even has a problem with intentionally misspelled words
like asdfasdf. I've checked the proofing options and everything seems to be
checked that needs to be checked. This is a brand new install of Office 2007.

Default Spell Check not working

I tried a lot of stuff to activate the grammar, but nothing other than the
following worked:
open a word document - click on the office sign - go to word options - go
to proofing - custom dictionaries - select dictionary language - (there would
be something which suggest spelling ) - enable it - select your language - ok

restart the document .. and you are all set to go ..

Default Spell Check not working

This worked the best for me, it took 2 reboot of Outlook but it fixed it.

This worked for me:

Step 1: START/RUN/REGEDIT
Step 2: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Proofing Tools\1.0
(rename “1.0″ to “zz1.0″ )

Default Spell Check not working

Without this post I would have been calling Microsoft. I have tried
everything on all other posts and nothing else helped. Thanks for the post.
This seems it would be the first step you take in resolving Spell Check!!!
