For some reason I am having a terrible time selecting or highlighting a group
of cells and then using the control button and selecting another group of
cells

Are you selecting say A1:A3 then hold CTRL key and select D13?

What occurs when you try?

How about hitting SHIFT + F8 then selecting A1:A3 and D13?

I would really like to see an answer on this. I teach Excel and on rare
occassion Excel simply doesn't work in this regard. I have the student move
to another machine and do the same thing with the same Excel sheet and it
works! Seems to be a myster to me

Default Control Key

I am experiencing the same problem. My 2003 version is fine. It is strictly limited to my 2007 version...anyone help?

Default Control key

I can select non-adjacent cells in Excel 2003 using the control key and the mouse. I cannot do this in my 2007 version of excel. This is extremely exasperating. Any ideas?

Default Control key

The CTRL key works just fine in XL2007, as it did in XL2003. Perhaps
you just can't see the selected cells (the color is very light and
very difficult to see if there is some background color applied to a
cell).
