Sorting by date in tables
I am preparing a medical chronology and using Microsoft Word 2007/table. I
have three columns; date/medical provider/ summary of visit. I need to sort information by date. I highlighted all information and chose sort by column A, then asked it sort by date, assending. It is not sorting all dates. It's leaving my January 2008 date first every time, but sorting the rest properly. I never had this problem in my old format of Word. The format I used for my date is 01/14/2008. Any suggestions? -- Lita Dale |

Sorting by date in tables
Perhaps you made a text entry instead of a real date?

Do you have a header row (i.e., that says Date/Provider/Summary or something
like that)? If not and if Header row is ticked, then sorting will treat the first entry as if it were the header row, and will not include it in the sort. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Lita" wrote in message news I am preparing a medical chronology and using Microsoft Word 2007/table. Also... I just noticed that you say you're sorting by "column A". If this
really is Word, then it would be column 1, not column A. Excel would say Column A. And, if you're using Excel, then Bob I's guess might be more apt. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Herb Tyson [MVP]" wrote in message ...
