Default Business Contacts Manager and SBS 2003 Exchange server co-existence

I purchased SBS 2003 Premium edition so that I could use my Outlook 2003 Premium with the exchange server. However, I am unable to have the BCM datafile and Exchange server service in the same profile. I have installed the recommended update/patch from Microsoft to allow this but it says (on the client) that the version of SBM does not support this feature. Any ideas?
