No Images in emails
WinXP with SP2 update, OE6.0, Etrust Anitvirus, Etrust PestPatrol, and Spam
Inspector for email. I absolutely have no problems with spam, pop-ups, or viruses. I check very often, so that's ruled out. Problem: No images showing up in emails. Tools/Options/Security/"Block Images" is unchecked. Already tried shutting down S.I. = no change Already tried disabling the real-time email protection from Etrust = no change And I shut down Etrust PP = no change It's go to be a setting in windows somewhere that I'm overlooking. I have a wireless network set up here at home, and my other computer has the same software on it, but images show up in OE. Everything is sam versions also, but theres a setting that's different on that system. Now, question is...can somebody get me jump-started here as to where to look that could save me some time and frustration? Thanks in advance. Andy Daugherty |

If you are not reading in Plain Text (Tools/Options/Read), then try
resetting the assocations for graphic files. See this link for a quick reg file that will do that for you: http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#nopreview -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. No one gets paid to help here, and the response rate from those that are helped is less than 4-5%. If that were how medical advancements were made we would all have died years ago. Thanks. Thanks for the reply Bruce,...no I just now checked that when I read your
message. It's not checked either. It's a mystery man! There's got to be an answer, this is too simple of a prob to let it whip me! Andy "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Thanks Jim,...and I was feeling good about this one too, but it didn't work.
I applied the reg file, closed down OE, then restarted OE. Still same results, only placeholders for images. Andy "Jim Pickering" wrote in message ... Yep, now that worked. I had a feeling it would work that way, but when my
mail comes in from Weather.com or TechRepublic.com, none of the images are in there. I can get on my other computer here and receive the same email in OE with all images showing, and no placeholders. Weird,...I'm not giving up though, will help from you guys & Google, I'll figure it out. Andy "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... I think what I'll have to do is go through each program and check every
setting to compare between my 2 computers. Thanks for your help thus far. I will post back with any info I run across. If you have any further ideas, please post. This *is* the behaviour expected with Tools/Options/Security/"Block Images" checked. Blocking "external content". So try giving that option a "kick in the pants"? Select it, apply etc reboot. De-select it, apply etc reboot. Sometimes this kind of action can reset the registry?
