OE doesn't want to retrieve mail

This problem drive me crazy, for years it work fine, awhile ago I just
retrieved my mail, and later, it keep telling it can't find my pop server
(!!!), all this happen since yesterday. All other internet applications and
so as OE/News work fine as usual. I try deleting the pop mail account and
re-created it again, same problems, seem like OE/Mail does not talking to my
local network adapter, where should I look? any advise appreciated.

Error messages are always helpful. Could be several related ro password not
accepted to just can't connect. Post the error message and maybe some one
will recognize it and help.
