Default new mail is downloaded multiple times

I have the same problem on Outlook 2002. Can you tell me if you resolved
this problem and how. It seems you took the discussion offline....so if you
came up
with anwers it would be terrific if you could let me (us) know.

Thank you.

Hello Jeff, sorry for the long forum post. The shorter log I just posted

did
not have a shutdown sequence logged because I copied the file before I

shut
down Outlook. I was thinking about what you asked of me and realized that
the delete mail instruction may have not been in the log file until I shut
down Outlook, so I ran a new log file that includes both start-up and
shutdown with deleted mail and also happens to have duplicate mail

appearing
upon restarting. However it was too long to post and I cannot figure out

how
to post an attachment. I tried to use your e-mail address on the forum
profile but the mail was bounced back. Please feel free to give me

further
instructions to send that log file to you or to ask me for anything else

that
may help you resolve this. Thanks!

Could you turn on diagnostic logging (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q300479) and
post
the OPMLog.log file (preferably as an attachment) after you get the
duplicates? This sounds like a problem that we're in the process of
releasing a fix for, but I'd like to see.

NAV is active for e-mail scanning. I just came back to the office and
started Outlook, and it downloaded all of the previous mail I had

deleted
before I shut the program down. I have checked all of the settings I

can
think of, but something is apparently blocking the deleted mail signal

so
server downloads the same mail everytime I shut down the program and
restart
it. What is really strange is that I can receive mail all day long
without
duplicates, but as soon as I shut the program down and reopen it the

mail
is
delivered again.

Hello Jeff. I am using Outlook 2003 and have POP3 accounts set

up. I
have
used the identical configuration for accounts with Outlook Express

for
years
without incident. I have a nearly identical setup at home and I
compared
notes over the weekend, the only difference was that my Norton
Firewall at
home was set to "permit-all" and my firewall at the office was set

to
"automatic". I changed it to "permit-all" and so far have not had

the
problem repeat itself. I suspect that Norton was blocking an

outgoing
port
that Outlook was using to report deleted mail. Do you have any

other
suggestions? Thanks.

If I close and reopen outlook, all new mail is downloaded again

and
again.
Deleted mail is removed only if I do a send & receive before
closing.
Same
configuration on my home computer does not have this glitch.

Please notify me of any solution to receiving multiple duplicate emails on MS
Outlook 2002. (re-sending those so I can check "notify me
of replys". Thank you. Fred Doner
