zipcode problem with mailmerge using excel.
Hi!
I'm using office 2000, and have a list of address in excel and want to make mailing labels in word. It works fine except the zipcode. I only want a 5 digit zipcode, and word adds zero.(42167.0). I tried changing format in excel from 5 digit zipcode, to number, and text all with the same result. I also tried zip\#"00000" in merge field but it didn't help or I didn't do it correctly. What am I doing wrong. Thanks |

You cannot alter the inserted field zip. You must toggle the field to
{Mergefield Zip} before adding the switch, then F9 to update - see http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org pamsf wrote: Hi!
