Default Equation Editor Setup

I am trying to add equation editor to my Office 2003 setup. It continues to
show that it is setup for use on my machine, but when I go into Objects it is
not listed. When I open objects I get a bunch of blank space, followed by a
bunch of objects, but none of these is equation editor. I guess I want to
know what all the blank space is, and secondly how do I get equation editor
to show up?

Default Equation Editor Setup

Hi Bob,

The 'blank spaces' are from other products that don't declare the name of the item they're adding. Inserting them into a blank Word
document as an object will often give you the title. (WordPerfect has done this for awhile).

If 'Microsoft Equation 3' doesn't appear in the Equation list be sure that in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel that
the state for it in MS Office 2003 setup is 'Run from my computer', rather than 'Install on First Use' and restart the computer
after checking that status.

If it's still not listed, then start Word and use
Tools=Macro=Macros, select 'Word Commands' from the drop down and choose InsertEquation as the command to 'Run' to see if the
Equation Editor is found.
