Default Help required with uploading a MS Publisher web site

I have read "Three top questions about publishing a Web site using Publisher
2003" but still can't upload my site. Using http://www.domain in the file
name, prompts an attempt to contact server but it comes back with "Cannot
find the URL 'http://www.domain ' please check your typing" What is going
wrong? What should be in 'Publish to the Web' Dialog box 'Save In' field ?

Default Help required with uploading a MS Publisher web site

Mary, Many thanks for reply. I have read David's articles and been through
every minute detail but I still get "Cannot find the URL 'http://www.domain '
please check your typing" Very occasionally the 'Connecting to Web Server'
box appears to be trying to connect but just hangs.

Is the problem likely to be with the host - if I cannot even get a
connection to input logons and passwords etc?

What is YOUR actual domain name? You must use that! I am wondering if
you are actually typing in 'http://www.domain'. That is a
placeholder/shortcut to tell you to replace 'domain' with
'youractualdomainname.com' .

hth. Sorry if this is too simplistic but sometimes people misunderstand.

Go back and read the instructions from your webhost, and read David
Bartosik's trouble shooting page as well as the others again. You might feel
you have been through every minute detail, but upon another reading or two,
I expect you will find your mistake. As Erika suggests, it sounds you might
be using the wrong information. Are you trying to use FTP uploading
protocol, or HTTP? If HTTP did you check to see if the FrontPage Server
Extensions (FPSE) are installed?

In the future please post your web questions in the webdesign newsgroup.

Thank you Erika & DavidF

I have read and reread instructions from webhost - also David bartosiks
pages - and yes I used the correct domain name. However, after repeatedly
asking questions as David suggested, I have finally been told the FrontPage
Server Extensions (FPSE) were not installed or not installed properly ! ! !

One word of advice, which David might incorporare in his article :-
http://msmvps.com/blogs/dbartosik/articles/80560.aspx
Never trust your host !
