when I enter =NOW() to update time it does not update, also when I enter any
other formulas, they do the opposite of what I asked for, it was working and
then suddenly stopped, I have clicked automatic for calculations, but still
no joy, any help graetly appreciated.

Hi,

If the function isn't calculating - do you have the format set to show time,
because its not going to change if you have a date format. Is the cell
showing a value or is it showing =NOW() - if the function is visible then the
cell may be formatted to TEXT, change the format to general and reenter the
formula. Is the sheet a worksheet not a Macro sheet - if it is a macro sheet
then formulas will not calculate.

Finally, what does "opposite of what I asked for" mean?

If this helps, please click the Yes button.
