Default '03 Word and Outlook signature and format problem

I just upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003. Have run into two issues I can't
seem to correct. I have one e-mail account I use and my signature appears
correctly when I compose e-mails from within Outlook. I don't have Word set
up as my e-mail editor.
(I didn't in Outlook 2000 either).
When I'm in Word 03 and want to SEND Doc AS an attachment, Outlook opens up
just fine, and the file is attached. However, my signature is not showing up
automatically. Also, I want the message to go out in html format but it is
opening a text option automatically when coming over from Word.

Like I said, when starting in Outlook, the signature and the format are fine.

I can't find where to make any adjustments to get it to act the same way
when coming from Word. (it worked just fine before I upgraded)
Thanks for any help.

This is because the Send To command initiates SimpleMapi and only a reduced
set of functionality is possible this way.

The message format should HTML though when you have set it to in Tools-
Options- tab Mail Format.
I've just verified this on a machine with Office 2003 Service Pack 3
installed (and remaining additional updates).

You can insert the signature via Insert- Signature

Default '03 Word and Outlook signature and format problem

Hi - thanks for your reply, but still have some questions/comments.
In Outlook, I DO have the mail format tab set to compose in HTML. And it
works just fine when composing within Outlook and the signature is added
normally too.

But I do a TON of "Send As" attachment e-mails from within Word.
Did it with no problems at all last weekend with Word 2000 and it would go
as the HTML default format along with my set signature. But can't do it
automatically anymore. I've seen where I can change the format once the
message window opens up as well as Insert a signature, but those are extra
steps I don't want to mess with.

Not sure what the "simple mapi" reference is about. So could use some
advice on that and if that's something that can be tweaked so I can get back
to working as efficiently as I did with the old version.

I was worried that I'd have some type of software install problem when
upgrading.
Instead I ended up with a smooth install, but a functionality issue.
ugh

also - I've got SP3 and a ton of additional updates installed too

thanks
rk
