Form Design
I am developing a Main menu and 2 linking menus using forms. I know how to hide the 'background' but am having problems designing the form so that it is maximised, centered on the screen and the form a fixed size. I think that the form properties should be: Popup = True, and Auto Center = No. How do I achieve the Max window position? What does Modal mean? Does anyone have the answers? Thank you very much. ------------------------------------------------ ~~ Message posted from http://www.ExcelTip.com/ ~~View and post usenet messages directly from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Form Design
Stealth,
Well, I can't see how you can meet all three of your requirements at the same time. If a form is maximized, it can't be centred or fixed in size. So I'll just forget the maximising for now. If you want the form centred, then you should set the Auto Center property to Yes. If you want it a fixed size, you should design it to the size you want, and then set the Auto Resize property to Yes. The Popup property is not directly relevant to your question, and nor is Modal. Modal means that another object cannot be activated until you close the modal form. For more info on this, put your cursor in the Modal property box of the form design, and press F1. -- Steve Schapel, Microsoft Access MVP stealth wrote: I am developing a Main menu and 2 linking menus using forms. Thanks Steve but I would like to know more about maximising. I read a response to another user and he posted a chunk of code which I copied but I somehow it didn't work properly. I'm pretty sure there is an easy way around to maximising a form. cheers Stealth ------------------------------------------------ ~~ Message posted from http://www.ExcelTip.com/ ~~View and post usenet messages directly from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Form Design
Stealth,
You can use a Maximize action in a macro, or DoCmd.Maximize method in a VBA procedure, to maximise a form. Some peropl put this type of macro or code on the Open or Activate event of the form itself. But of course, if a form is maximised, the idea of centering it isn't really applicable. -- Steve Schapel, Microsoft Access MVP stealth wrote: Thanks Steve but I would like to know more about maximising.
