Default mail merge with windows mail & specific dates

QUESTION!! Can you send mail merges through windows mail? Cant think of why
else my mail merge would send on other computers but not my personal one?
ALSO!!... how do i set different emails in mail merge to send on different
dates (for birthdays for example) (BTW my database is in excel)

I cannot confirm the first as I don't have Windows Vista or Windows Mail
available. Is Windows mail your default e-mail application?
For the second question, you could filter the data on the birthday field and
merge the file or you could probably set a skipif field at the start of your
merge document
{SKIPIF {Mergefield Birthdate \@ "yyyyMMdd"} {Date \@ "yyyyMMdd"}}

You should be able to merge via Windows Mail, but only if
a. you do not mean Windows Live Mail (which is Microsoft's web-based
email facility)
b. Windows Mail is your default email package (see Vista-Control Panel

c. you use the plain text or attachment options. The HTML option only
works with the full Outlook that's part of Microsoft Office.
