Default Excel pivot table, numbers are reverting to dates format

eThe numbers in my pivot tables suddenly started to revert to dates format on
refresh, even after I reformat them. Why should text in cells show as
formatted as dates. I think I'm on a parrallel universe where everything is
reversed! The workbook was working fine until it unexpectedly started
behaving wierd.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
