Default inserting date automatically in emails

Can I configure OL 2007 to automatically insert the date into an email? I
know I can do it manually by clicking the insert tab of a message then
clicking date/time.

Win XP Sp3

That would be a Word question. In Word's Help look for "insert date" or
"insert time".

Maybe modify normal.dotm, the outlook / word default template to include
'current date'

Brian,

Thanks for the idea. I am able to do it manually in both OL 2007 and Word.
Unfortunately, there is no info on having it happen automatically when one
wants to create a new email. I guess I can click on the Insert tab, then the
text box, but I thought this would be a no-brainer. perhaps I am missing
something.
Thanks- asf66

Since Outlook 2007 uses Word as its mail editor, it's still a Word question.
See if either of these helps:
