Default Fonts not showing in Word

I installed some new fonts into my font folder and I can
see that they are in there but then when I open up word
and go to change the font there are blank rows where they
should be listed. I can even click on that blank space
and it will change to the font that should be there. It
is just annoying that I cannot see the sample as I am
scrolling through the fonts The fonts I installed are
all True Type fonts. I am using XP
Any suggestions?
