Default Combo/List box default color

I have created a new db in 2000 and a new form. In my main data table I have
added a lookup to a couple of fields, these lookups are from another
description table. I then added a combo box on my new form, I also tried just
a list box. When you open the form these combo boxes are black with white
fonts, the rest of the fields remain white with black fonts. When you are
trying to tab through to enter info you can't tell where the cursor is
because the field doesn't change color. I am at a new computer and have never
had this problem before. I even went as far as reinstalling the program. I
talked to my IT department with no suggestions. I have checked all of the
properties and cannot figure out how to fix this. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks.

This is just a guess.......

Open the form in design view. If it is not already there, add the
"Formatting (Form/Report)" toolbar.

Select the combo box. In the toolbar, there will be a Bucket (background
color) and next to it is a capital "A" (Font color). Click on the select
arrow next to the bucket. Select the background color. Then do the same for
the font.

Add a new unbound combo box (you can delete it later). Change back to form
view. If the background of the your combo box is the colors you selected and
the new combo box is black w/white font, somehow the control defaults were
changed.

Go back to design view, delete the new unbound combo box. Select the combo
box that is set to the colors you want. Click on "Format" in the main toolbar
and click on "Set Control Defaults". Test again...

The list box can be set like you did the combo box.
