Nero Backup runs in the background and is a likely candidate. See if
disabling it stops the problem. You may have to restart your computer.

As for any other programs listed, you find them in Start | All Programs.

I am trying to covert over to Outlook 2007, and I know there is a serch
in
there...but I can not find a Windows Desktop search. Is this the same
as
Windows Search?

I also do not have a Nero on my computer (At least I do not think I do)
other than a backup program I have used every night for years call Nero
Backup.

If I have these other programs, I am not sure where to find them.

Thanks

Are you sure you have Windows Search installed? Look in Add/Remove Programs.
I downloaded it just to see what was what and it added that option to the
Windows Control Panel. I already removed the program as I don't want/need
it. I know where my stuff is stored.

You /are/ running OE with XP or a newer OS?

I downloaded it just to see what was what and it added that option to the
Windows Control Panel. I already removed the program as I don't want/need
it. I know where my stuff is stored.

You /are/ running OE with XP or a newer OS?

There is no Indexing Options in the Control panel.

My bad. As I said, I don't use this program.

In the Windows Control Panel | Indexing Options | Modify. Clear the
check

Nero Backup runs in the background and is a likely candidate.
See
if
disabling it stops the problem. You may have to restart your
computer.

As for any other programs listed, you find them in Start | All
Programs.

I am trying to covert over to Outlook 2007, and I know there
is a
serch
in
there...but I can not find a Windows Desktop search. Is this
the
same
as
Windows Search?

I also do not have a Nero on my computer (At least I do not
think
I
do)
other than a backup program I have used every night for years
call
Nero
Backup.

If I have these other programs, I am not sure where to find
them.

Thanks

There is a growing number of programs and actions that may be

IBM Rapid Access keyboard (driver) RAKDLL.DLL
Windows Desktop Search
Window Live Mail (even if it was removed)
Mailwasher
Nero plug-in(s)

Opening EML files while OE is closed will also contribute to
the

Various anti-virus, anti-spyware and third party firewalls,

In the case of Windows Desktop Search, (the #1 offender), you
have
to
tell
it to stop indexing OE.

Windows Desktop Search. Set Desktop Search Options:
http://www.microsoft.com/australia/w...h/options.mspx

In Windows Desktop Search: Control Panel | Indexing Options.
Click:
Modify
and clear the check box for Outlook Express.

In the case of Nero Scout, see Item 2.3 on page 8 here.

In the option to exclude selected file types from indexing,
be
sure
to
add
these file types:

..eml, .dbx & .nws

To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread about your specific problem.
State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP2)
in your first post. Also tell us if Windows (Desktop) Search is installed.
