I did the jpeg, file attachment, in HTML format. I'vwe never used the insert
I've always did this way. Why would one attachment show up in body of email and another not, just show box with red X; when the were did the same way. In tools, options, security, "DO NOT ALLOW ATTACHEMENTS" is not checked Tools, options, send, in HTML settings, send pictures with mail is checked. In the problem message, can you do File, Save Attachments? If so, can
the saved file be double clicked to open? You mention jpeg. Do both files have the same extension? That is both ..JPG? If one is .JPG and the other .JPEG (or .JPE), that could be the issue. JPG, JPEG and JPE are considered different file types and could have differences in the file associations. That could cause one to work and the other not. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Imo" wrote in message ... I did the jpeg, file attachment, in HTML format. OK, I can save the file, save attachment, yes it can be opened.
Both the files have the same extension jpg. When I do a save file in Corel photo program, I can size it to a low kb, which I did, 190kb. It also gives me a choice to save as, TIFF,JPEG (JTiF) or interchange format as, jpeg / jfif. I chose the TIFF, JPEG (JTiF) wich I've always used, never changed it. When I go to the saved file, it has jpg , attach the item to email, it says jpg. This is puzzling about jpeg and jpg as the fomat. When there is no mention of jpg when I save the item. Any ideas, Lord knows I need help. Thanks Michael -- Imo G "Michael Santovec" wrote: In the problem message, can you do File, Save Attachments? If so, can the saved file be double clicked to open? Functionally, the JPG, JPEG and JPE file extensions are for the same
thing. But the way Windows does the registry, each of those could have different registry settings and so different default programs. So a JPG file might open in one program whereas a JPEG might open in another. But that doesn't seem to be the issue here. I would avoid the TIFF option when saving the JPEG files. Not all programs that can display JPEG files can handle the internal encoding that the TIFF option uses. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Imo" wrote in message ... Michael,
I opened scanned item/photo in my Corel Photo program, resized it small. then clicked on file, save as, then I got the JPEG export: with two choices, TIFF,JPEG (JTIF) which I was useing. I changed it to: JPEG format: (JPEG/JFIF). and saved the item in a small 124kb., saved on hard drive in a folder. I prepared an email to my self, and clicked on attachment, got it from saved folder and attached it. Sent the email. When I received the email, the item was in the body of the email, and also showed as attch. I did this twice, with different items and it worked both times. For some unknown reason or how/when the JPEG format must have gotten changed. Thanks for all your help. -- Imo G "Michael Santovec" wrote: Functionally, the JPG, JPEG and JPE file extensions are for the same thing. Michael;
It must have been the TIFF format in JPEG that was the problem, thanks for the help and tip.
