The rendering changed when I removed the background image. Remember the
trippy background image I asked you guys for feedback on? Anyway, this is
*so* not finished and this is just for the links! And to doubtless shame

me
into finishing it.

Q329115 is also installed by the Security CD along with IE6 SP1.

Anyhow,
it's one only available from Windows Update, but here's the url:

Shouldn't be that - it was IE6SP1 I installed from the Security

when
testing (unless they have an updated SP1 on download now?)

I'll try it over the weekend and see what I can see - my test

box
has
a
fresh install of ME on it for me to play with.

I believe the files in Q329115 have been superseded by

installing
IE6-SP1:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329115#Win9x

Crypt32.dll v5.131.2600.2162
Cryptdlg.dll v5.0.1558.6072

If Dave's installed version of these two files are later than

the
above,
all
should be well IMHO.

Ah - that may have been superseded by another patch.....
download and run Belarc Advisor (www.belarc.com)
see what it reports about your IE patches.
Then visit Windows Update, and download and install ALL the
critical
patches (just a couple at a time, with reboots in between
batches),
and
re-run Belarc
See what the report says then.

Not all of them. Some, accessed via their respective bulletins, are
available for saving to disk *except* when for WinME. Those are only
*available via Windows Update* (or words to that effect, but essentially a
web-based installation only) and not found in the WU Catalog. Of those I
linked to, they're the ones from the cabpool, with very long filenames.

I daresay there are other ways of getting the urls, but I get them by
starting an update, then cancelling once the download meter starts to move.
After confirming the cancellation the url can be retrieved from Windows
Update.log (and for V5, apparently,WindowsUpdate.log).

Some of the Win98 updates I linked to are also not available afaics any
other way. Not, at least, to one without MS connections.

Just confirmed this - fresh Win ME, updated to fully-patched, ran IER, and
reinstalled IE6SP1 from the Security CD - 329115 is broken (the only one
that shows as such in Belarc)

For me, the Windows Update Catalog worked for 329115, as described on the
page (I followed my own instructions for a changeg)
I've slightly modified the page, so that it *does* include the instructions
for getting the Windows Update Catalog link

Just re-installed the 'new' IE patches now, and Belarc's happy (and so am
I - now to screw it all up by using Norton on it!g)
