Default Error 1911: Referencing VBE6.DLL on Install

I use Microsoft Office 2000 Premium. On installation, after the prompt to
restart computer, I get the following message:

ERROR 1911. Could not register type library for file C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6.DLL

The file is located in the directory indicated in the path. Any ideas??

I also get the following error when opening/closing EXCEL:

File Not Found: VBA6.DLL

This file, I could not locate. How do I solve either or both of these
problems?

Thanks,
Les

Well Les, I hope you find the answer to this one as I asked it over a week ago at many forums on the net and it does not look easy to solve. I have threads going that are 30 replies\suggestions long and nothing has worked.
Let's hope someone here has some knowledge about this. Good Luck

Dear Les
I have still had no luck and have tried just about everything. My next option is to reload Windows, I don't have a disc, and I am computer illiterate, so this will be fun. I can't work out how to insert a link, but if you want to try the suggestions I have received so far the website is Computing.Net. My user name is aussie1 and I have threads going in Win95/98 and Office Software (links on side of web page when you get there). There are heaps of suggestions in those threads, one of them may work for you.
Regards
aussie
