Running Power Point 2003 with Windows XP with all updates.

I recently added a large number of .pot template files to C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\Presentation Designs. They do not display
when I click the "Design" button. The only ones that show are the original
ones.

They are listed when I "Browse" along with the original templates.

Any suggestions as to how I can see them displayed in the Slide Design
panel?

Thanks,

Gordo

Oddly, you'll need to *use* each POT file before it will appear in the Task
Pane. So open it (them), do something -- anything, do a Save As (somewhere
other than the template folder) and rename. Close file and reopen PowerPoint.

Now it should be there.

I followed your instructions, to no avail. The template did not appear in
the "AvailavleFor Use" listing, only in the "Recently Used" listing.
I recently had to rebuild my machine. Before that, I did add all those
templates and they did appear in the Available For Use listing.

I did find the answser.

Install the .pot files in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates folder instead of the Program Files folders I first
asked about.

Thanks,

Gordo

I missed the file location in your original question. Great sleuthing.
