Application Hangs Error

I am using XP SP2 OUtlook 2002 SP3 with all updates installed......

Now for the problem...... When I open outlook and try to open an email
(unless just plain text) It takes 2 to 3 minutes regardless of the message
size. Then when I go to delete it or close it, I have to wait anoither couple
of minutes to go to the next email...... This is very frustrating.....
sometimes I get a NOT RESPONDING message or Application Hangs message in the
error log..... typically if I wait long enough it will open regardless of the
messages ......

What can I do to fix this problem.... It was working with no problems....
not sure what changed that cuased this problem.....
