Default Contacts and Address Book

I just installed Office XP on a new PC running Windows XP. I wanted to
share the Windows Address Book contact information with Outlook, but the
option to share contact information unders "Tools" in the address book isn't
there. What do I need to do to get this option added?

There has never been an option to share OE with Outlook.
The old IMO mode permitted the reverse (sharing of Outlook with OE), but no
current versions do. You can hack the registry to do so if you want.

The option to share contacts between Outlook and Outlook Express was only supported in OL98/2000 Internet Only Mode. There is a registry hack that usually works with later versions of Outlook though. See http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm

Default Contacts and Address Book

Hi. I saw this problem before, but I've forgotten the solution. I'm
running outlook 2002. I can see my contacts folder but when I go to
start a new email, in the address field, nothing shows up but an error
message saying my contacts folder doesn't exist. I've gone to TOOLS
OPTIONS MAIL SETUP DATA FILES and verified the path to no avail.
What am I missing?

Go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing directories
or address books", and click OK. If you don't see the OAB in the Directories
and Address Books list, click the Back button, then select "Add a new
directory or address book", then "Additional Address Books", and add the
OAB. Then keep clicking Back until you get back to the first dialog box,
and go back to the Directories and Address Books list as you did earlier.
Once the OAB appears in the list, select it and then click Change to make
sure the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed. If any of them
aren't listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook
Address Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking
the Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an
E-mail address book" box. Make sure you restart Outlook after making these
changes.
