Numbered style bug in Word 2007?
SEQ fields cannot be attached to a style; what you can do is save the field
in an AutoText entry. However, it is hard to tell which is the best approach. Since outline numbering now works, I guess there is no reason not to use it. It is definitely likely to be easier for users. :-) ~~~ Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP wrote in message ... I looked at the link you provided (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ word/HP051861901033.aspx?pid=CH061047291033) and it says: "The easiest way to insert SEQ fields to number tables, figures, and other items in a document is to use the Caption command (Insert menu, Reference submenu). " In other words, I need to create an extra button for this? I wouldn't get this style to appear along with my other styles? In this case I find it better to include my tenth style with the others and add an extra button for "restart numbering", which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. Is this the best I can do? Åsa |

Numbered style bug in Word 2007?
Hello again,
Yes the problem is solved for now. At least the big problem that initiated all this. But I often have many numbered lists that I need to restart after a heading and I have many headings. The best way I know to do this is to have many levels in a multilevel list style. It is not uncommon that I need more than nine. And the point is that I want these to restart numbering without any active thinking from the user. They shouldn't have to press restart numbering, or insert an autotext or a caption or press a certain button. I just want them to work properly like they would if I had more levels to work with. If anybody has a piece of code for this, I'd be happy to have it. Thanks, Åsa Cronqvist |
