Default How to make a waterfall chart

I have to create a Waterfall chart (not to be confused with a cascade chart)
like the one shown at
http://www.ozgrid.com/Services/excel...fall-chart.htm. This is just a
one-time deal, and I don't feel like buying the add-in. I would rather learn
how to do it myself. Does anybody know how?

Thanks!

You'll need to add more series, so for each bar that might pass through
the axis, you need two identically formatted series. Here's some further
information:

Hi all,

I have tried the link in Tushar-Mehta & Peltiertech and found the same
problem: The waterfall chart columns cannot pass through the x axis.

I have the following data:
Jan 800
Feb 1000 (200 up)
Mar 1100 (100 up)
Apr 700 (400 down)
May 200 (500 down)
Jun -500 (700 down)
Jul -800 (300 down)
Aug -350 (450 up)
Sep 260 (610 up)
Oct -100 (160 down)
Nov 400 (500 up)
Dec 500 (100 up)

For Jun, Jul, Aug & Oct, the chart cannot display properly (negative
value and cut across the x axis). This problem has been bugging me for
a long time. Would anyone please help me out? Many thanks.

Regards,
KC
