They are in the registry. What did you do so that you need to recover them?

1.. Close OE and then In Regedit, navigate to this key:

|--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
|-----Identities
|--------{GUID}
|-----------Software
|--------------Microsoft
|-----------------Outlook Express
|--------------------5.0

where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity.

2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, among
others:

|-----------------------Block Senders
|-----------------------Rules
|-----------------------Signatures

Did you backup the registry prior to whatever you did?

I had to recover my system so I lost them. I had all my data moved to a
backup drive and they should be there. How do I find them on that backup
drive.

Please include all previous messages in your replies. It makes things much
easier for us to follow. Thank you.

Does "all my data" include the registry? (Probably not). If you can't open
the registry in the backup drive, you're SOL.

Does current OE imply that there was another OE?
What type of signatures are they? Plain text or html?
If plain text, they must be multi line or they could just be retyped.

It may be easier to just copy the signatures from old sent emails.

How do I find the registry on my backup??

You have to open the backup drive and then go to regedit as I described
previously.

How many sigs did you have? Would just creating new ones be a burden?

I didn't notice these 2 replies until I already posted.

My questions still stand. Text or html signatures?
The html part of a signature is not saved in the Registry.

Again, it may be easier to get the signatures from old sent messages.

Not sure how to read the registry from a backup. But I don't keep signatures
in the registry. MSOE will read actual files, from a folder in the directory
tree. I create .sig files in a 'signature' folder, and point MSOE to those
files. Safer than relying on the registry for such things.
