Default webbased msaccess application

Hi everybody,

Six years ago I have developed quite an large application called Elias
in MsAccess97. The company was and is still satisfied with it, so there
was no reason to convert into Msaccess 2000 or higher. However time has
not stand still. They want to access the application through internet.
They have asked me to examine whether it is wise to use msaccess to
build a Webbased Elias. I have my doubts. Does someone has ever build a
webbased application using msaccess.

I hope to find an answer, positive or negative

Thanks in advance

Unless all the possible users have MSAccess installed, you will need to
build a web based user interface outside access. That means you may be able
to reuse your tables and queries, but none of your forms and reports. From
a data prespective, people have used MsAccess as a data source, but in my
opinion, MS SQL server 2005 \Express is a better choice.

Ed gave you a 100% great answer.

Ms-access is not a web tool, and really has little, or nothing to do with
the web....

wrong tool......
