I want to remove carriage returns from pasted text

Default I want to remove carriage returns from pasted text

So I copied text from an internet document and pasted it into a word doc.
However the only way to have the lines space properly within the full length
of the margins is to manually backspace between the line breaks (carriage
returns) in the text. Can word do this automatically for me?
