Default Error Message : "The Expression On Click you entered as the event... Error Accessing File. Network Connection May Have Been Lost."

ALL --

Hello !

In implementing a form in Access 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1), I had a
'checkbox' that implemented some code to send an email which was
just most recently working fine.

Now, however, whenever that checkbox gets checked, I receive the
following error message :
"The expression On Click you entered as the event property setting
produced the following error : Error Accessing File. Network connection
may have been lost.

"* The expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of
a user-defined function, or [Event Procedure].

"* There may have been an error evaluating the function, event or macro."

I don't seem able to utilize Office update for the latest service packs,
etc., keeps erroring out when attempting to update via the office
wizard on the support web site.

Any ideas, insights to my email addy would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks,

-- B.

Apply sr-2 or 3
The problem is most likely related to a known issue with VBA.

You may occasionally lose code from modules with this bug.
Import all into a new db and check compilation prior to updateing.

Techie
Is this a frontend/backend setup? If so..was the
network up and running normally when you got this message.
Were you able to access other objects on the network from
the PC? Did the error message persist over time or does it
just occur sometimes?

Hope This helps

If your procedure does in fact attempt to access a file on a network share,
have you used the UNC path to that file (e.g. \\YourServer\YourShareName)?

If you have referenced a network file and have used the mapped drive letter,
I recommend you change it to the above format.

Good luck.
