installing over VPN WAN

I'm trying to install Access XP from the Office XP Pro CD via a WAN and VPN.
The machine I'm installing from has a mapped drive to the server with the CD
copied to a folder. I get through most of the setup options but then get a
message "error 2755. An internal error has occurred"...

I suspect it's because of the slowness of the connection in some way shape
or form.

Any thoughts?

Also, I'm wondering if there's a way just to copy the install files for
Access off the CD. Then I could upload them to the machine getting the
install. Otherwise, the whole Office installation is nearly 1GB.
