Default !!! okay. copying formulas!!

this is drvng me crazy! okay...thanks to roger for
helping on "vlookup" .now..i have a lists of plants with
costs ..I was hoping to be able to copy the plant name
and its respective VLOOKUP formulas in to my multiple
sheets thru out the book. BUT when i do..it changes the
(col_index_num) each to the actual cell i am pasting too.
How do i copy exactly the formula and its respective
palnt name to the destination cell without the colm index
changing? this will save me time to change all of the
sheets that do not have the formulas there.

i have tried paste special and just insert cell
but .nooooooooooooo..
thanks!! mike

Hi
you can change the relative references to abolute ones. e.g. change A1
to $A$1
