Default Security page classification labels in headers

Hello, I can not figure out how to do this.
I know that you can have multiple sections and up to three headers per section.
In order to comply with classified document requirements. EVERY page must be marked at the top and bottom with the highest security level contained on that page. Each paragraph is marked with (U), (C), or (S). At the top and bottom of each page must apear SECRET if a (S) is present, CONFIDENTIAL if a (C) is present or UNCLASSIFIED if only (U)s are present.
I would like to have this labeling automatically displayed at the top and bottom of each page based on the page content. My documents are currently around 60 pages. I could not figure out how to pull this off with a styleref field and I see nothing else that would enable me to do this. It needs to be dynamic because if, by inserting text, a (S) marker gets pushed onto a following page then the header/footer labels must change.
Has anyone any ideas on how to pull this off? Is it possible to write an ActiveX control to add this feature to Word???
thanks,

CGuy,

See the section on Advanced Conditional Headers and
Footers he

http://home.cfl.rr.com/gmaxeyword/Co..._Headers_Foote
rs.htm

Note the link is broken by text wrapping so make sure you
paste the entire link in your browser.

I put this together with lots of help from Peter
Jamieson. It works well but hasn't been tested on a large
document.

Greg:

thank you, thank you, thank you!

That was very clever, and works great on my large document.

sincerely,
CGuy
