Error in Hidden Module Message
I just did a HD replacement and reinstalled Office 2000 on
an XP machine. I've done all the service packs and other upgrades to bring Office back up to current. Now when I start Excel or Word I get a Visual Basic error on startup that says "Error in Hidden Module." When I click the "OK" box the program runs normally. Why am I getting this error, and does anyone know how I can correct this? Thanks a bunch for any help you can be! |

Error in Hidden Module Message
After posting I looked back through old messages and found
the solution below. Perhaps it will also help others, and thanks again for the contribution of knowledge and experience!! From: "Tom Moore [MSFT]" Sent: 9/17/2003 12:13:16 PM Subject: Compile error in hidden module: RegistrationDB Hi Larry, I believe the behavior you described is documented in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 291214 XL2002: "Compile Error in Hidden Module: RegistrationDB" Error Starting Excel http://support.microsoft.com/?id=291214 The error is typically caused by a copy of the Adobe Acrobat file, Pdfwrite.xla, in the XLSTART folder, after an upgrade of Microsoft Office or Excel. Please give the steps in the Resolution section of the article a try to see if this corrects the behavior. Hope this helps! -- Tom Moore [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. "Larry" wrote in message ... I've just installed OfficeXP. I am having a problem with Excel (2002). Everytime I start or close the program I get the message "Compile error in hidden module: RegistrationDB". The caption of the message says "Microsoft Visual Basic". Does anyone know how to correct this problem? -----Original Message----- I just did a HD replacement and reinstalled Office 2000 on an XP machine.
