Default Refreshing ODBC data on Protected Sheets

Hi Guys,

My skill with excel doesnt go much past basic formulas, so please excuse me
if this is a silly question.

My situation is as follows. (Excel 2007)

I have an excel workbook with 6 sheets which i would like to protect so
nothing can be modified (except filtering). Each sheet is populated by an
ODBC query which is refreshed when the file is opened. The problem is that
this is not allowed if the sheets are protected.

Any help would be appreciated. Also try to pretend you are talking to a 5
year old kid when you answer.....

Cheers
