OE6 reading compacted messages
OK, so I can't figure out how to import the messages back
into OE6 how about telling me how I can read them on the C drive CD or anywhere else. When I open properties I have unchecked Read only hidden and archive. I guess it isn't important to put them back in my OE6 folders if I can access the data from them somewhere else. |

You cannot read a DBX file (not easily anyway), since the data is broken in
to 512 byte segments and scattered randomly throughout the DBX file. You can use DBXtract ($5) from www.oehelp.com to extract the contents of a dbx file as individual eml files which will open natively in Outlook Express. But the import is not difficult. Follow the advice at these links: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/backup/index.htm http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/how.htm#importdbx -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. wrote in message ...
