Default Auto shapes and text boxes will not format (Color in)

Any help would be so greatly appreciated:

I just installed MS Office Professional Plus 2007. There are some features
that will not work. For instance, I can not color in any text boxes or auto
shapes in MS Word and Publisher. There was a free trial which has expired.
I uninstalled it. I also uninstalled MS Office Professional Plus 2007 and
then reinstalled it – and those features still aren’t working.

The software was activated. I even tried to activate it again...but it
indicated that activation was already complete.

Thank-you to anyone who has some advice for me.

Trials are only good once, then you need to buy it if you like it and want
to continue to use it.

Have you installed the Service Pack? Are you using a color printer?

Might try an Office Diagnostic in the Help menu.

Hello Rob,

I didn't want to continue the trial that came with my new computer. I
didn't like that version of Office - so I purchsed a different version.
However, the new one will not add color to shapes or text boxes. The other
version has been uninstalled so I don't know why this is happening. Thanks
for your reply.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for replying. I did install the service packs and I ran the
diagnositc (said everything was fine). The only thing that will not work is
to make my text boxes and shapes a differnet color. Publisher is not useful
if I can't make the color work. I'm frustrated. Thanks for anything you can
provide.

Can you select a different printer as default in the Printer folder? Is your
present printer driver current?

Hi Mary,

I could install another printer. However, the computer has been using the
same printer for a few months. Just last week I could use MS Office (the
version I unintalled) - and it worked perfectly. However, I wanted a
different version. I have done everything I know how to do. I have been
installing and using MS products for years. I have never had to contact
them. I'm not even sure how to do that...I think there is a fee too. Over
the years I have loaded the softwarwe - and all features have worked. Thanks
for trying to help Mary. I appreciate your time.

Ok so let's backup...which version of Publisher are you trying to use now?
What color printer are you using, and is the printer driver the latest
version?

Then what....?
