separator line in footnote is centered and should be left aligned

Don't know why separator line in footnote is center aligned. I can left align
footnote but not separator line. Doc left aligned in Home tab.

If you switch to Draft (or Normal) View then in Word 2007, click on the Show
Notes button in the Footnotes Section of the References tab of the Ribbon,
from the pull down at the top of the Notes pane, you can select the
Footnotes Separator and format it as left aligned. In Word 2003 and
earlier, from the View menu, select Normal and then from that menu again,
select Footnotes and the Notes pane will appear.

Any change in the separator usually signals an ill-advised modifcation to
the Normal style (which the separator uses or is based on); see
