Linking multiple documents
I am preparing a thesis for a client who would like to complete each chapter
as a separate document but keep footnotes/endnotes, references etc flowing through all the documents as if they were the one document. He would also like a table of contents for the full set. Is this possible in Word2007? thanks for your help karen |

Linking multiple documents
Tell your client that it is quite practical and much simpler to work on the
thesis as a single document. That's not to say that you can't keep the chapters separate and combine them later, but the ultimate goal should be a single document. It's possible to create a TOC for multiple files (see http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/P...le.asp?ID=148), but it is much, much simpler and more practical to create a TOC for a single document after combining the chapters. -- Suzanne S.
