Default How to quickly see someone's availability w/o scheduling a meeting

Hi,

I have Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003. Currently, in order to see someone's
availability, we have to start by scheduling a meeting and including the
person as an attendee then we can see his/her free/busy time. Is there any
shortcut to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Lisa,

You could simply view the other users calendar/s. You can even view them side by side with your calendar (Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007) or overlaid with your calendar (Outlook 2007), which helps to coordinate times for meetings and/or appointment scheduling.

You'll need to setup shared calendars in Outlook which you can easily do because you are connected to Exchange Server. Refer to this topic on Outlookipedia which contains instructions for sharing Outlook calendar (broken down by Outlook version...you'll select Outlook 2003)...

Nothing built-in. You can speed the process slightly perhaps by pressing
CTRL+SHIFT+Q to start the meeting request.

Look on the actions tab when in the calendar - Plan a meeting shows
free/busy - but the process is about the same as opening a meeting request
so you won't save much time/effort. It really just eliminates accidently
inviting people to a meeting.

If you need to check free busy for a person or persons often, use the Group
Schedules feature. Same deal as the others but you can save the schedule and
reuse.
