Outlook is not available for instalation of upgrade
On XP Pro, I have Office 2000 SR1 installed and it has been running fine. I
purchased the Office Standard 2007 upgrade. When I install, everything is available on the installation menu except Outlook. Outlook has a red X and says Not Available. Something is really wrong, because Excel 2000 and 2007 both execute. Outlook and Word 2000 execute properly. I don't know where my Office 200 CD is. If I uninstall 2007, it might uninstall my 2000 version. How do I fix this? |

Outlook is not available for instalation of upgrade
You should have selected upgrade during the 2007 installation, as it is you
installed 2007 in parallel with 2000, for whatever reason Only a single instance of Outlook can be installed, so you would need to uninstall Outlook 2000 before you can install Outlook 2007 Uninstall 2007, reboot, then reinstall selecting the upgrade installation "Tony" wrote in message ... Outlook is not available for instalation of upgrade
When I installed, it did not prompt me to upgrade, it just provided a list of
office programs and allowed me to select run from cd or run from my computer. Normally an upgrade goes right over the older applications and there is no uninstall needed. If I uninstall Office 2000, then the Upgrade will not find the previous version. Right? the upgrade option? "Tony" wrote in message ... Outlook is not available for instalation of upgrade
No, it simply presented me with the install screen allowing me to choose
which modules should run from the CD or PC. "DL" wrote: So you inserted the Office 2007 cd and when it ran it didnt present you with the upgrade option? "Tony" wrote in message ... Outlook is not available for instalation of upgrade
Sorry, but I've never seen that happen
PS an upgrade cd/dvd merely requires evidence of the qualifing app, so if the qualifying app isnt installed, during the install process you will get a notification that the qualifying app cannot be found, with the option to browse, at that point you swap the cd with the qualiying app, point the installation to it, once confirmed re swap cd and continue with the installation In your case going from such an early version of Outlook, once 2007 is all ok, create a new Profile, via mail applet in the control panel, add a new data file, your accounts & test. Then within Outlook, FileOpenData File....browse to and open the old data file, either leave it open or copy data from old to new "Tony" wrote in message ...
