Default Caption Numbering

I'm working on a book comprised of 10 chapters. Each
chapter contains figures and/or charts. I would like to
number them with the following style (i.e., Chapter 1 ...
Figure 1-1, Figure 1-2 and so on). The problem is that
Word 2002 seemingly won't let me restart the numbering at
1 with each subsequent chapter. So, instead of Figure 2-
1, Word 2002 numbers it Figure 2-12 because there are 11
figures in the first chapter. Does anyone know how to
help? Thanks!

Assuming you're using Insert | Reference | Caption with Numbering... |
"Include chapter number," you need to select the appropriate style for
"Chapter starts with style."
