Conversion
Does anyone have any idea to covert Visio ver 4.0 to 2003 or 2007, basicly i
have to convert templates and drawings. |

Conversion
Assuming the templates and drawings are 'basic' shapes, they should be able to be read by v2003 and v2007 and saved in the current formats. There were changes between v5 and v2000 and again at v2002 which means that although you should be able to read them in a current version, you cannot write back to the old formats. Going backwards has always been a problem. You could only go back a version or two. Going forward is another matter and I have been able to open Visio 1 drawings in Visio 2007 with no problems. If there is a collection of Visio drawings that need to be updated, the easiest solution is to create some VBA code to open each drawing within a folder and then save the drawing in the current Visio version in a new folder. That way you will preserve the old and create a directory of the new. John... Visio MVP |
