Default How to install HP-7400 document scanner in M/S Office 2003?

I have M/S Office 2003 running on XP/Pro and I want to scan a document using
the Office Document Scanner in the Tools section. I have an HP-7400
All-in-One printer, fax, copier, scanner. How do I install the scanner in
M/S Office or get the Document Scanner to recognize it?

When you start the Office Document Scanning, there is a *Show scanner driver
dialog before scanning.*
This from help
Select this check box to display the dialog box for the scanner software that
came with your scanner. This option is useful if you want to control advanced
features and settings of your scanner.

I take it you are saying that when you bring up the Office Document Scanning
dialogue box your scanner is not recognised?
Does the actual HP scanning work, from their software?
Did you install the HP as per HP instructions, which I believe involves
installing their software prior to connecting the unit?

Mary and DL,

This is my first post to this forum, and I may be doing this response the
wrong way, but:

Thank you both for your responses.

Both responses triggered a thought in my mind - ie that this printer is
installed on another computer on our network and it is installed on my
computer as a network printer and I can print to it, but I have not installed
the scanner printer driver for this printer on my computer!

I will try that and hopefully the driver will the show up in the Scaner
Driver selection box.

Thank you both for your help.

Best wishes,

Dave
